History of Grade Roofers & Flooring AS

Circulate drainage technology for flat surfaces (at the time not yet applied for roofs) was developed and patented in Sweden in November 2013. The patent is currently valid and paid in over 50 countries in Europe, Asia and North America.

Current exclusive owner of the patent and licensing rights is the joint-stock company Grade Roofers & Flooring AS with its registered seat in Oslo. The group of its shareholders includes over 50 legal entities and natural persons from 5 countries, including also big Scandinavian construction companies and developers.

The Management of Grade Roofers & Flooring AS is formed by 5 persons for years involved in management as well as the building and construction industry in Scandinavia and Central Europe. Stein Elling Wirum is the CEO.

In the years 2013–2018, technological tests of preparing the system and its implementation for circulate drainage according to the GradeGroup™ technology were carried out in Norway. Within that period, the BIM software was implemented, together with unique prototype plotter operating in the 4D (2x2D) motion intended for cutting and shaping polystyrene boards in 3D (for the EPS and XPS material, intended mainly for bathroom, bathhouse and terrace flooring).

In 2019, the Grade Roofers & Flooring AS was established in order to promote the principles of circulate drainage. It re-oriented the technology and promoted it in the sector of flat roofs. Sudden and fast development of the GradeRoof™ technology took place in 2021 in the area of building and edifice sector, directed at the shaping of thermal insulation panels on flat roofs.

Very quickly, the technology started to gain more and more recognition and began to be applied on Norwegian roofs and within the first installations in Sweden. Only in the first year of its activity in the roofing sector, in 2021, the technology was applied in Norway on over 100 classic roofs, terraces and green roofs on the buildings representing diversified purposes and sizes.

Factory and Production

Prefabrication and precision

Our factory represents modernity, precise prefabrication and deliveries to construction site performed on the agreed day.

The location of our factory and commercial department is just perfect – 60 kilometers from Poznań, by the communication node of the S5 route near Gniezno. It provides us with quick access to the national road network ensuring fast and timely realizations.

On January 24th 2022, first successfully completed 3D cutting and shaping tests of Paroc hard mineral wool for roofs were performed within the premises of the Grade Group Roofs Sp. z o.o. manufacturing facility.

The tests were performed with the use of newly designed prototype production line based on the world’s unique and cutting-edge plotter of this kind operating in 3D according to the guidelines for the 4D (2x2D); base and knife motion guidelines based on Graphisoft software and design, following the principles of BIM building design software.

The line has been equipped with a unique prototype industrial printer automatically marking thermal insulation panels intended for “module based” installation on the roof.
